Laura Lienhard, mother of young composer

I attended the Opus 16 Concert in Randolph, Vermont on Wednesday April 30, 2008 because my daughter, Allison Gillette, had her composition performed. I was awe-struck by every single piece that was performed on this evening. So many of the pieces gave me goose bumps and brought tears to my eyes. It was especially poignant to see the faces of the young people who wrote these incredible works of art. They were so proud of themselves and it showed in their smiles. They truly have every right to be proud of their outstanding accomplishment.

I was very surprised that this opportunity is the only one of its kind in the United States. We are very lucky to have the MIDI Project here in Vermont. I just wish more people knew about it. Maybe it should be televised on local TV stations or public access channnels because I know there are people out there that would enjoy this experience and support it.
